Subjects and Qualifications
Key Stage 3
Students will study a broad programme based on the National Curriculum that includes:
- The Arts: Art, Drama and Music
- Design and Technology: Construction, Food Technology and Textiles Technology
- English
- Humanities: Geography, History and Religious Studies
- Languages: two languages from French, German and Spanish. Extracurricular Latin is available.
- Maths and Computing
- Science
- Physical Education
- Personal Development
- Learning for Life
Key Stage 4
Students will study a core programme of both qualification and non-qualification subjects:
- GCSE English Language & GCSE English Literature
- GCSE Maths
- GCSE Combined Science or, optionally, GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Physics
- Philosophy, Religion and Ethics (PRE)
- Physical Education
- Learning for Life
Students will also study optional GCSE and/or Level 2 BTEC qualifications. All students have the opportunity to take a combination of subjects leading to the English Baccalaureate.
Key Stage 5
In Years 12 and 13 students study A Level and/or other Level 3 qualifications.
In addition, students who have not yet achieved the Government's minimum standard (Grade 4) in GCSE English and/or Maths will study for re-takes.
