GCSE Exam Results 2017
Staff and students at the Howard of Effingham are celebrating as their GCSE results are published.
New grades have been awarded for the first time in English and mathematics and at the Howard, 81% of students gained a grade 9-4 in both subjects. One third of grades awarded across all subjects were A/A* equivalent. 31 students gained at least 10 A*-A / 9-7 grades.
Headteacher, Helen Pennington said ‘I am delighted to be able to once again congratulate students and teachers on an excellent set of well-deserved examination results. The new regime of more challenging exam specifications and no coursework makes these impressive headlines particularly pleasing. It is a credit to staff and students that they continue to achieve so much. The very positive outcome is the result of sustained hard work and all concerned should be very proud. We wish all our students well as they embark on the next stage of their education and look forward to welcoming very many back to our 6th form in September.’
