Students and staff at Howard of Effingham have once again celebrated excellent A Level examination results. In a cohort of 173 students, 19% of the grades were A* and 47% were A* or A. 53 students achieved the UCAS equivalent of 3 A grades or higher. Almost 75% of the grades awarded were A*-B, with 91% A*-C.
Oxbridge students were amongst the highest with Oliver Gibson, Oliver Hardman and Georgia Spencer scoring 10A* between them. Oliver Hardman was the highest performer nationally in OCR A Level Physics, and achieved 4 A* grades overall. In addition, 10 other students achieved at least 3 A* grades: Zain Ali, Petie Hallam, Phoebe King, Eloise Ligertwood-Clark, Tabitha Pate, Jessica Preston, Nathan Vos, Tom Walker, Joanna Willis and Jessica Winter.
The school has an excellent record in helping students to secure their chosen post-18 routes, including university places. This year is no exception, with students already very excited about taking up places at their chosen providers.
Principal James Baker said, “We are all absolutely delighted. I am so proud of the achievements of the students especially after the challenges of the last couple of years and so pleased for the staff that their hard work and dedication has been rewarded by these truly exceptional results. It is wonderful to know that our students have what they need to move on to the next stages of their lives.”
